Climate change is a global phenomenon with complex answers and multiple solutions that go far beyond technological solutions.
The climate crisis and the deterioration of ecosystems puts us in front of choices that cannot be postponed anymore to future generations.
The natural world is not just a market of resources, ecosystem services and products to be exploited and depleted so that a few people can profit while those working with nature remain in poverty. Trees will not just provide an ecosystem service or be just a carbon credit in an imbalanced and destructive capitalist system. Trees will be giving life both literally and metaphorically.
In the meantime global warming is putting more and more pressure on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, on habitats where a huge web of animals and plants live: they are all essential to our life on the planet.
There is not a simple fix to the climate and biodiversity crisis, but different solutions depending on the wealth of the country, its responsibility in global warming, its geographical position and exposure to climate risks. If some forms of decrease of growth are morally acceptable for some societies, reducing consumption in countries that have been at the margin of growth is not equitable. Therefore some countries need more technical and financial support than others.
All individuals, citizens, policy makers, politicians, entrepreneurs, students, retired and young people, have the power to make responsible choices toward the Earth and its future. We need a collective change that makes us aware of our interdependence with nature, with whom to build healthy networks and connections.
These choices can be made every day and can have an enormous influence on others. To the Future of the Earth and the power of change of attitude, I have dedicated the Blog “Earth Future”.

How can we make this happen?
We need actions, engagement, time and money investments on large scale projects, to restore and protect aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, near and far from where we live. Actions start from knowledge, transparency and communication of the positive effects of our choices and the support to community projects, NGOs, engaged institutions and companies
